School Uniform

Our school uniform promotes a real sense of school identity, shared values, self-confidence and a shared sense of community. The uniform is actively supported by our pupils, parents and the Parent Council and is of great benefit to our young people.

The school uniform consists of the following items:

  • School blazer (S1-S4 blazer has gold trim, our S5/6 blazer has blue trim.)
  • White shirt
  • School tie (S1-S4 wear a gold/blue/black striped tie, S5/6 wear our blue senior tie.)
  • Black school trousers
  • Black skirt
  • Appropriate school footwear (black)
  • The school tie is available from the school office

Given recent Covid restrictions and risk assessments over the past two years, we have focused less on wearing full school uniform. – from January 2022, there will be a renewed focus. All young people will be expected to wear a white shirt, school tie, a pair of plain black trousers or a plain black skirt. We will be monitoring this closely and contacting home should this not be the case.

We will also continue to allow outer garments to be worn in class given the temperature of classrooms as we continue to ventilate rooms during winter but we would ask that

Where possible the outer garments are plain black with full school uniform always visible.

PE Kit

The school dress code does extent to full PE kit which is expected on days you have PE. We are able to use PE changing rooms now so there are no excuses. (More info about this on the PE Kit page).

Any pupil who comes to school without their full school uniform or full PE kit must also bring a note of explanation. Pastoral Care / your year head will follow this up.

From Monday January 10th, your year head will be visiting classes to review the wearing of full school uniform. Pupils wearing full school uniform will receive a point for their house group. Pupils not wearing full school uniform will be monitored on an individual basis thereafter and parents will be contacted.
