We got an extra treat in p7b this Friday when Mrs Harris came to work with us on our recount writing skills. We focused on strategies to use BEFORE we start a piece of writing. This week Primary 6 met a Glasgow Rocks Junior Coach. He is going to be working with us for the next few weeks. He taught us dribbling techniques in order to control a basketball. We learned that the ball has to stay at waist height while you are dribbling and you have to keep your head up at all times. We learned that teamwork is a very important part of this
Primary 1a have been very busy practising their ‘Have a Go’ writing. On Monday, we wrote a sentence about our Halloween party. The sentence said ‘I am at the party’. We then illustrated our sentences. After that, we assessed our writing by giving ourselves a traffic light – green, orange or red! “I liked drawing the picture to match my sentence!” said Pheobe. “I liked writing my sentence!” said Alicia.
P.2b have the responsibility this year of helping keep the infant playground litter free. We designed posters to help promote this.
We enjoyed sharing our research work about pets. Thank you to parents and families for their support. We have started our new topic all about Transport.
Clyde were our house treat winners this term! We had a Family Fun afternoon on Thursday. The afternoon was spent playing games with the parachute, doing an obstacle course, Halloween arts and crafts and netball. We also had some Halloween treats. Our families were invited along and some members really dressed up for the occasion!
This term primary 4 are learning about British history and inventors. As part of this we will be learning about Fireworks and the reason we celebrate Bonfire night. We wanted to learn more about fireworks and we discovered that fireworks travel up to a distance of 100m when fired in to the sky! Primary 1a are Eco Heroes! We are doing all that we can to save energy in order to look after our planet, Earth. We designed posters to remind each class to switch off their computers when they are not in use. “Let them dream and go to sleep. Switch them off!” said Kaydence.
