Last Friday P7 and p6 took part in a Fun Run at Robroyston park. It was a mile long and there was lots of different schools there. We met an athlete who had competed in the Commonwealth Games and had won a bronze medal. It was tiring but good fun, and lovely to cheer each other on. Learning for Sustainability Week at Balornock will begin on Monday 30th April. This will be an all encompassing themed week for our pupils addressing learning within Eco Schools, RRS and HWB. Pupils will be undertaking various activities including nature walks, yoga, designing a school mascot, etc. This is sure to be an exciting week for everyone with lots of fantastic learning experiences for our pupils. This term for P.E we are doing athletic sports. We made a circuit using hurdles, a quick jump, balance beam, and a trampoline. We had to jump over the benches and move around the room in different ways. It was great fun, especially using the trampoline. Andrew liked using the balance beam the best because it helped him with his balance. Take a look at how high we can jump!

This week we have been exploring how computer coding works. You can use coding to make games and animations. Lewis really liked how it was quite challenging but when it worked it was really rewarding. In numeracy we were learning how to add fractions together. The Eco Heroes have decided to take steps towards helping minimise the amount of food being wasted in our school by encouraging everyone at Balornock to put on their Eco thinking caps when clearing up after they have eaten! We now have three separate bins in our lunch hall and would encourage everyone to use accordingly.
