It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

It has been a very busy and fun-filled week at Balornock as we get ready for the festive season! We are all getting ready for the P1 Nativity next week, had a trip to Barmulloch library for Sleeping Beauty Panto and finished the week off with our annual Christmas Fayre!

Here are some of Santa’s little helpers (a.k.a our House Captains) decorating our school’s Christmas tree!

Collaborative Committees!!

This term our Pupil Council have teamed up with our Health Committee members to work on an Anti-Bullying Competition. Today they did some amazing team work when working together in mixed groups to decide on the best entries. There was lots of great discussion and decision-making going on through the judging process.

Here are some snaps of them hard at work!

Term 1 House Winners!!

This term Kelvin were the winning house! As a reward we are off to Springburn Park on Wednesday afternoon for fun and games. We will leave the school at 1.15pm and return to the school for 2.45pm.

All our Kelvin parents and carers are welcome to join us!

Can we remind all pupils of Kelvin to wear appropriate footwear for the park and to remember and bring a warm, waterproof jacket.

If the weather lets us down we will have a movie afternoon in our top gym!

This afternoon we went out to the shops to buy some extra treats for everyone in Kelvin to enjoy on the day.

We are so excited about celebrating with our House members on Wednesday afternoon.

Primary 1b have a great week!

Primary 1b were practicing our phonics this week! We looked at the sounds ‘i’ and ‘s’.

“it was great fun” said Lexie. Keeley said “finding the sounds in the sand was good fun”.

We were also taking part in Maths week. We looked at Henri Matisse’s ‘The Snail’ and how we could make art using maths.

Hayley loved her version of ‘The Snail’.

We also joined P1a for Maths outdoors. We learned some games that involved Shapes and counting.

We are looking forward to next week’s tasks!

Creative minds!

It has been a busy start to the term for Primary 4. We have started learning all about our new social studies topic- Knights and Castles. This week we worked collaboratively to build castle models, thinking carefully about structure and design. Check out some of our work…
