This week Primary 4/3 have been very busy! First, we ended our Them Bones topic with an exciting experiment to test what liquids do to our teeth! We used tea, cola, coffee, water and boiled eggs! We found out that cola, tea and coffee stain our teeth. “The liquids were hot so we had to be careful”. – David “The water made the egg shiny”. – Lucy Then on Wednesday we visited

We had a visit from Jack and James (P7b) to talk to us about ways to save energy by switching off the lights when they are not needed. We thought about times when we should switch off the lights to save electricity and these included: “When we are leaving the classroom!” said Kourtney. “When we are going to sleep!” said Aaron. “When we are using the Smart Board!” said Paige.

Today is Workplace Mental Health Day. Balornock staff are thinking about the wellbeing of others and themselves.
We are planning on working on improving our playground week beginning 23rd October. The hope is that over the course of the week (Monday-Thursday) we can get as many people as possible to help any day between 3 o’clock and 4.30pm. If there is any day you would be available to help please let a member of staff know. The children are excited about what’s to come so please help
Due to heavy rain over night and predicted rain this morning we have had to cancel our planned Dig In Day. Watch this space for alternative arrangements. Texts and letters will also be sent with a new date. Thank you to everyone who was planning on supporting us today and we hope to see you with your paintbrush in hand very soon!
Primary 3 have been taking part in lots of activities to help them with their spelling! Some of their favourite games are: Silent Spelling Clap Spelling Frog Spelling Spelling Tic Tac Toe. We’ve also been using our elkonin boards to help us split words up and we’ve been making silly poems to help us remember how to spell too!
