This week Primary 6 have been writing some fantastic stories based on a short animation film. We were focusing on including a variety of punctuation, connectives, sentence openers and interesting vocabulary in our stories. We have been working with money this week during our maths lessons and were converting pence to pounds and pounds to pence. P3 have been examining the work of Steven Brown. They loved his use of colour and that many of his painting are of animals. They loved the names he had given to his paintings and thought they were funny. They liked Francie and Josie McZoo and Lizzie McCoo! We had a visit from high school teacher Mrs James who showed us how secondary school uses metalinguistics. On Wednesday we spent the afternoon visiting Balmulloch Library. We met Nicola who tested us on our library knowledge. We have been learning all about our bodies. We know about our skeleton, heart, lungs and teeth! We worked in groups to create life sized diagrams to showcase our learning.
What a week for P1b. Refreshed after our long weekend, we worked hard on our number and phonics work. We matched the sounds using our ‘Sound Garden’. We used paint to make the phonics we learned.
