All the P3-7 classes have been working very hard on their After Writing Strategies this week. We have been looking at self-assessment, peer assessment and celebrating our work with an audience. Primary 6 did a fantastic job with peer assessing. They used their success criteria to say what went well in their partner’s Recount Writing. A big well done to all of them.
We have been learning about Spain. We know the population is 47 million people and the capital city is Madrid. For many years it was ruled by General Franco but now Felipe is the king. We also did some more Picasso inspired pictures.

We were very lucky to get a fantastic visit from some real members of Glasgow’s professional Ice Hockey team, The Braehead Clan! They had lots of advice on how to become a professional sportsperson and even more gory stories of broken bones and ice skate injuries! This week we have been taking part in lots of different active literacy lessons to help us with our phonics and spelling. We had to work together and test our partner’s knowledge of phonics on the whiteboards. We practised our basketball and gymnastic skills during P.E, and started to learn how to Salsa dance! For maths this week we have been exploring negative numbers, and have enjoyed working out
Today Primary 3 and Primary 5 took part in paired reading. All of the children thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to read a book of their choice to their partner. They listened carefully to each other and supported each other as they read their books.
We had great fun doing a traffic survey. We recorded about 40 cars in 10 minutes!!
In Primary 5 we are doing healthy eating at 2:00pm everyday. We bring in fruit and water and we have a brain break while we eat it and drink it . We like to be healthy in p5 and we really want to keep it up . We hope you try it out! by Tiegan, Darcey, Melny and Kelsey P5
