P7a’s Wonderful Week

This week we have been taking part in lots of different active literacy lessons to help us with our phonics and spelling. We  had to work together and test our partner’s knowledge of phonics on the whiteboards.

We practised our basketball and gymnastic skills during P.E, and started to learn how to Salsa dance! For maths this week we have been exploring negative numbers, and have enjoyed working out problems that involve bank balances and negative numbers.

We spent some time finishing off our Taj Mahal art work, don’t they look fabulous!?

Finally, we are really enjoying getting stuck into our class novel Coraline, it’s getting quite creepy! A lot of us have already seen the film, but that’s ok because we know books can paint a vivid picture in our minds. Based on Coraline’s genre and what we already know, we created our own ‘other friends’..

“I liked playing basketball games the best this week” – Tyler
” I enjoyed salsa dancing, it was so much fun ”  – Jenna
” I found negative numbers interesting, I like how you can go past zero!” – Calum
” I loved finishing off the Taj Mahal pictures, it was cool seeing all the different colours” – Del

Have a great weekend when it comes!
