Learning for Sustainability Week at Balornock!

Learning for Sustainability Week at Balornock will begin on Monday 30th April. This will be an all encompassing themed week for our pupils addressing learning within Eco Schools, RRS and HWB. It’s All Change….

You may have noticed that some ‘new’ bins have recently appeared in our lunch hall?…. The Eco Heroes have decided to take steps towards helping minimise the amount of food being wasted in our school by encouraging everyone at Balornock to put on their Eco thinking caps when clearing up after they have eaten! We now have three separate bins in our lunch hall and would encourage everyone to use accordingly.

On Thursday 11th January, all children from P5 to P7 attended a Lego workshop where they built working models of a conveyor belt. Here is some of the feedback from the children: “I think Lego is fun, it was easy to build and I think it is amazing how Lego can do that and I didn’t know that.” “I enjoyed the Lego workshop even though I don’t really like Lego.”

The Eco Heroes had a great meeting this afternoon to discuss the on-going plans for the school!
