We are looking forward to seeing pupils and staff next week.
The school uses a number of tools to disseminate information to pupils, parents, carers and the wider school community: see below. We feel it is important to share information about the working life of the school e.g. events, achievements, changes, new initiatives.
Please take a look at some of the online platforms – in addition to the school website and Groupcall – we use and “follow us” on Twitter and Facebook:
School app
Twitter [@Bellbaxter_HS]
Facebook [@BellBaxterHS]
Parents and carers can register with the school app – information will be sent out next week – to receive information straight to their mobiles.
If you haven’t done so, we are encouraging parents and carers of our new S1 pupils to read and complete the school’s acceptable use policy for ICT before the start of term: see below for link. Once signed off, pupils will be able to access the school network to support their learning.
The policy sets out the expectations of pupils when they are using IT facilities within the school. Parents, carers and pupils should carefully read the policy and submit the form acknowledging that they understand its contents and agree to our expectations; pupils’ responsibilities will be covered again in class.
Thank you.
Would you like to work towards an internationally recognised award? You could be volunteering within the community, developing new or existing skills and going out on expedition as part of the award. If this sounds like the sort of thing you’d get involved with then sign up for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
If you’re in S3 – S6 then you can sign up to undertake either the Bronze or Silver, depending on your age, award within the school. Speak to members of the staff team – Mr McNicol or Mrs Kidson – if you’d like further information. Alternatively, you can view the participant information and register for award using the links below.

Good luck to all of our young people receiving their SQA exam results tomorrow. We hope all your hard work throughout the session has paid off and you get the results you deserve.
Further information about Results Day from the SQA is available here:
We are however aware that some of you will have worked just as hard as others yet be disappointed with the results you have received. This may mean that you need to make changes to the courses you were planning to take in session 2019-2020. If this is the case then further information is available on the school website here:
If things have not gone as well as you had hoped and you think that there has been some kind of significant mistake in the marking process, for instance if a result is considerably lower than that expected or estimated then further information is available at the link below. If a University or College offer is dependant on a result then you should carefully consider the information on this page before completing the form.
