Congratulations to Findlay Baillie on coming third in the British Schools National Modern Biathlon Championships at Crystal Palace on Saturday. Despite the freezing temperatures and strong winds, Findlay ran a superb race to be placed in his age category at this national championship.
Our pupils had some great results at this weekend’s Fife Schools’ Burns Competition held at Waid Academy. The following pupils won prizes:
S1/2 Bagpiping – 1st, Owen Stark
S1/2 Vocal – 2nd, Helen Black
S1/2 Instrumental – 2nd, Helen Black
S1/2 Recitation – 2nd, Ella McGeorge
Although not placed, ‘well done’ to Samantha Ellis who competed well in the S1/2 Vocal category.
Winners will now be going on to compete in the Scottish final in Irving this coming weekend.
Well done to Madeline Smiles (S1) who picked up a bronze medal while representing Bell Baxter at the British Schools’ Judo Championship held in Sheffield on Sunday. This is a terrific achievement by Madeline at a national judo competition.
Our school production, “Darien: The commonplace book of Murdo Macfarlane” heads to The Byre Theatre from the 13 – 15 June. The cast and crew are working really hard to be ready for their opening night.

The tickets (£10) for the “Senior Sportsman’s Dinner” are now on sale! Tickets can be purchased from the Dining Hall during Interval this week, then from the Main Office and the PE base. Ticket price includes a two course dinner, guest speakers, refreshments and a ceilidh.
Guest speaker on the evening will be former pupil Austin McPhee, Assistant Head Coach of Heart of Midlothian and Northern Ireland.
The dinner will be held on the evening of Tuesday, 26th March and is open to staff and senior pupils who participate in extra-curricular teams/activities, pupils in Advanced Higher/Higher/National 5 PE and Dance, all Sports Leaders, Sports Ambassadors and Sport Council.
Raffle tickets (£1) will also be on sale during Interval between 11th – 19th March in the Dinner Hall and from the PE Base between 20th – 26th March. Raffle tickets will also be available to buy on the evening of the event.
This will be a fantastic event recognising the sporting achievements of Bell Baxter’s young people.
