We are all involved in planning and preparing our snacks. We are supported to make healthy choices and we have fresh fruit and vegetables each day.
We set the table and prepare the food and drinks.
Last week we made clootie dumpling for snack as part of our Burns celebrations.
Today we made our own salad sandwiches. We put spread on our bread and chose our salad filling.
We love to have parents and carers into Glenwood to sharing their knowledge and expertise with us. Joseph was delighted when his mummy was able to come to bake scones with us. The children loved taking part and the scones smelled delicious!
“My mummy is helping today. She doesn’t always bake in the house. I like having her here. I hope she can come again.” Joseph
We have been learning to use recipes to help us prepare our own food.
We have followed recipes to make many tasty foods for snack including banana loaf, apple crumble and scones.
We have been learning the importance of following the instructions in the correct order and we used our sequencing skills to prepare sandwiches.
As we are a nut-free centre we were not able to buy shortbread as a St Andrew’s Day treat. 🙁
We decided to make our own and it was delicious! 🙂
