The Autistic Collective Wednesday 28th February 1.00 – 3.00pm

The Autistic Collective is delighted to announce our next event, open to parents and family carers in East Renfrewshire, and we would be most grateful if you would kindly pass the information onto families of pupils at Eastwood High School.

Autistic children’s wellbeing practitioner and autism specialist, Jodie Smitten joins us on Wednesday 28th February 1.00 – 3.00pm to explore Challenges faced in school affecting the mental health of Autistic children”

This Zoom session will take a deep dive on challenges brought about by the school environment, with the aim of empowering parents to advocate for their child. Covering topics such as:

·         Sensory processing differences

·         Double Empathy Theory

·         Alexithymia

·         Autistic Masking

·         Autistic Burnout

·         Time for questions at the end

The event is part of our funded series of empowerment workshops for parents and carers, with longtime collaborator and friend Lynsey Stewart, L-Mac Consultancy.

Dyslexia Scotland Open Meeting 21st February

Dyslexia Scotland

The next Dyslexia Scotland Open Meeting will be held on 21st February via Zoom. The meeting will be led by Brian Costello from Headstrong and will focus on the topic of mental health. This is expected to be popular so please do look out for more information coming soon on how to book through Eventbrite.

Please also note that Dyslexia Scotland is holding a drop-in event on Saturday the 27th of January from 10.30am-4pm in Stirling. As well as information stands there will be talks throughout the day. Anyone is welcome to drop in at any time to this free event, there is no need to book.
