Outing to Gemmell’s Garden Centre

On Monday we went on an outing to Gemmell’s Garden Centre. We all wore our Christmas jumpers to get in the Christmas spirit. We loved the soft play and had lots of fun climbing and sliding down the slides. We had a snack and our lunch inside the party room. It was a lovely lunch. The ladies enjoyed their lunch too.

We went for a look around all the Christmas lights and Christmas trees. We loved the snowman seat which was a little wet and looking at the ice rink.

Social Stories to help understand Christmas

We have produced two short Social Stories to help pupils understand and manage during Christmastime: “It’s Christmastime” and “It’s a Snow Day“.  (We hope the Snow Day story isn’t needed!!)

FAOL – Enterprise

We were all involved in creating our Christmas craft for the school Christmas market. We bought our ingredients for our snowman kits. We helped to press the buttons on the photocopier to make the labels and helped to fold and attach them. We were able to count out the number of each item and add them to the bag. We all have great fun.

Festive Fun!

The Beech and Transition classes joined forces this week for a social outing to Gemmell’s Garden Centre!  Every pupil had a ball and were very responsible citizens throughout the morning.  We enjoyed some shopping, experienced the beautiful and calming Christmas lights as well as took turns to try ice-skating or driving round a track!  We then enjoyed some snacks and hot chocolate in the lovely cafe.

The daisies had lots on fun on their social outing last week. We went to Asda to choose a Christmas tree and decorations for our class. We each chose our favourite bauble and like adding it to the tree.

Math Games

We all had fun taking part in a variety of different math games, we were working on our memory skills.

All the boys were successful learners and were very engaged.

We had to listen three numbers that were only said once and then press the numbers in the correct order on the sequencer.

Also listened to the pattern the bell was played and copy the same pattern back.

Also we had the numbers on a dice and then we had 3 seconds to look at the position of the balls before it was covered again to see at a glance if we  could say the number that was there.

Recycled Christmas

We have been known as the dumping ground for everyone to bring their rubbish so we can transform them into Christmas decorations

Over a few sessions all the boys were effective contributors to work together to create these lovely pieces of recycled Christmas themed decorations.

Have a look at how they have turned out, we made different styles of Christmas trees.

Christmas Crafts

The Snowdrops have been very busy creating Christmas crafts and exploring Christmas smells or textures.  Everyone has made effective contributions and confident choices during all our activities.  We have successfully practised and been learning new skills – cutting, gluing, filling, sticking, painting and pressing textures down.  There have been lots of sparkly colours to explore.  After all our hard work, the class wall is looking bright, colourful and decorative!

Santa’s Beard!

Today the Sunflowers class created these lovely Santa pictures. The pupils were given support to cut out a triangle, rectangle and semi-circle shape. They then built these up to make a Santa face and used a curly pipe cleaner and white paint to paint a beard. The boys presented their hard work to peers. Lots of happy faces today!

Super successful learners.
