It was the last Pupil Council meeting of this term and all the boys in Transition represented their class. They were all Confident Individuals during the week leading up to and during the meeting working hard to cast votes and come up with any new ideas to help them “Be The Best They Can Be” at school. Keiran was our spokesperson for this meeting and he did an excellent job delivering our ideas and decisions to the rest of the school representatives.

It’s a Thursday Treat!
On Thursday the boys in Transition were all Effective Contributors when working in the cookery room. We have been focusing on healthy treats in cooking over the past while and decided the boys deserved a wee treat so we made some flapjacks. There was no picture of the final product as the whole thing was devoured by both boys and staff.

* SUCCESSFUL LEARNERS, EFFECTIVE CONTRIBUTORS, RESPONSIBLE CITIZENS *
The Moonbeams class participated in a science experiment where we tried to turn ice into a rainbow. We used coarse salt to create craters in the giant ice bars and then sprinkled with food colouring in the colours of the rainbow.

IDL – Let’s Go to Australia
We made Octopus Pizza which everyone enjoyed. The boys were independent in making their own pizza, successful learners observing and copying the demonstration.
We delivered our assembly this week on our topic, Australia. We made giant paper planes and boomerang. We observed the demonstration and were successful learners, then we had great fun testing out if they would fly.
Aussie Pizza and Numeracy
This week we are still continuing with our Australian Theme and made Aussie Pizza – which was lovely. We looked at the animals in our story and made there noises – squawks, hisses and howls.
For numeracy we have been working on our money skills and shape recognition. And played Snakes and Ladders!!
Italy Assembly
The Snowdrops were all confident individuals this week, helping to lead our primary assembly. Everyone made effective contributions by holding up a visual aid, using some Makaton signs or playing a percussion instrument during our Italy theme song. We enjoyed telling and showing all our friends about our successful learning so far this term.
