The Bluebells class enjoyed making some playdoh pizzas (similar to the pizza we seen falling from the sky in our theme film “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs”).
Once our pizzas were created, we pretended to share them with some customers. We used cutting tools and practised cutting the pizza into halves and quarters.

The Bluebells class were very successful on a 2D shape hunt around the school where they had to find 16 hidden colourful shapes. We all worked together and managed to find their hiding places.

The Bluebells class loved exploring numicon today. They had a challenge of working in pairs to complete the numicon insert board, we also ordered the numicon shapes from 1-20 and played some games.

The Beech class were delighted to participate in a pet therapy session with Kelly and Poppy this week! All pupils really enjoyed interacting with Poppy and learning about how to take care of her. Lyle, Gemma and Sean especially enjoyed working with and playing with Poppy and were very responsible citizens when they followed instructions and used gentle hands.
This week the Pine Class have been Successful Learners when starting a short unit of work in the ICE Pack programme about ‘How we Feel?’ We watched some of the movie Inside Out and used some sensory bags to help us decide what we were feeling at that time.
We have continued with our theme and this week made Sardine Biscuits – and everyone that tried them said they were great!!
We went around the school yesterday on a Literacy Treasure Hunt – looking for pictures and putting in the correct card.
We have also had fun colour sorting different objects and playing with the switches.
Have a lovely weekend!!!
Another fantastic week in the Sunflowers class. The children are settled into the routine of school and this week we focussed on some numeracy tasks as it is National Maths Week. The children were confident individuals and able to choose a song from the app “Number songs” on our Interactive Whiteboard. There are lots to chose from and the songs are very good. We also played lots of interactive games. We all loved the one where we had to give the teddy the correct number of cakes.
We also went on a number hunt around the school. We had a sheet with numbers and had to find the same as we explored around the corridors of the school.
Fun with food this week, we made fruit faces and tasted / licked a variety of food.
All boys were confident individuals to try some of the fruit that they would not normally choose to eat.
Our topic work this term is learning to develop our life skills through our book study, Soup Day & Pizza Day.
We will develop our skills in the following areas;
We made vegetable soup today in cooking, on Monday we made the shopping list for all the ingredients we would need. Today, we were effective contributors to work together to prepare the vegetables and make the soup.
