The Bluebells class enjoyed using autumn leaves during our art lesson. WE made funny faces and gave them crazy hair using leaves that had fallen from the trees.

In the film “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs”, hot dogs fall from the sky. We decided to make hot dogs at cookery today. We all had fun getting to grips with lifting and moving the hot dogs using tongs. We were all very good at this!

The Bluebells class worked very hard today looking at our feelings and emotions. We looked at a range of pictures and analysed how we thought each person was feeling. We sorted pictures into happy, sad and angry categories and also attempted to draw some emojis showing different feelings.
Finally, we rolled the dice and had fun acting out a range of feelings. We particularly enjoyed pretending to be sick!

The Pine class are studying Cloudy with a chance of meatballs for their class topic. The children were given the opportunity to create their own paintbrushes using food, in connection with the story.
Everyone experienced using a carrot to draw, celery to paint, lettuce to dab and a cut pepper to print. We discussed colour mixing and textures. Successful learners today!

Today the pupils in the Beech class had a very busy morning continuing their class theme.
Everyone had a go at making a parachute for The English Cow. Recycled plastic bags and some old string were used. Squares of plastic were carefully cut and added to the corners, however we quickly discovered that the cow fell too quickly. Oh dear!
So, the group worked together to design a different type of parachute, this time with a bumpy edge and more string. This time the cow had a much gentler landing!
Super successful learners today!

The pupils in the Bluebells class continued exploring their class theme, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, in the art room.
In the story a lot of different foods fell from the sky so Mrs Macdonald brought in some vegetables and the boys and girls enjoyed a sensory afternoon ‘painting’ with vegetables!
It was decided that the celery made the best paintbrush!
Confident individuals and some super behaviour in the busy art room. Fab!

We had a ball during our sensory PE session this morning! We played some fun warm up games followed by rounders., hide-and-seek and ‘What’s the time Mr Wolf?’
We had a giggle whilst working hard on our M.O.V.E targets, stretching our muscles and using great communication. What a group of successful learners.

As part of the National Trust’s ’50 things to do before you’re 11¾’ initiative, we have chosen two activities from the suggestion list to complete this term. Yesterday we tackled activity #13 – make a mud creation! We were very responsible when outdoors by following the instructions given to us and listening carefully to what our challenges were.
Sean created ‘Mud Buns’, Gemma and Skye made a ‘Pine Pie’ and Nicole and Valo made ‘Leaf Soup’!

The Beech class enjoyed joining in with the rest of the secondary department as we raised awareness for Macmillan Cancer Support. Each class bought or made cake for us all to try and we had a bit of a boogie. It was a fun afternoon! We were effective contributors as we all participated in our own way.

The Beech class have been working hard on their numeracy ILP targets in class. We are focusing on number recognition, ordering numbers, matching numbers to their value and using mathematical language and Gemma has started work on addition! We were very successful learners as we worked hard to achieve our targets.
