FAOL – Transition CRM Sensory Rose

The boys in the Transition class have been learning about the work of Charles Rennie Mackintosh (7 June 1868 – 10 December 1928).

He was a Scottish architect, designer, watercolourist and sculptor and extremely influential within the  Arts and Crafts movement and Art Nouveau in the United Kingdom.

We discussed his famous works and buildings and also the tragic fires which destroyed part of the Glasgow School of Art building where Mrs Macdonald studied.

I’m sure you will agree that these beautiful Mackintosh inspired roses are fabulous! Lots of different sensory textures were used. Well done boys, successful learners.

IDL Music – percussion sounds

Successful Learners  Confident Individuals    Effective Contributors

The Snowdrops have been playing with the Gruffalo Chorus Game on the SMARTboard and have listened to different sounds made by all the Gruffalo story characters.  We decided to make our own sounds for each of the animals.  Everyone enjoyed exploring percussion instruments and the different sounds they could make.  The Snowdrops took turns to choose an animal from the story and then decide which percussion instrument would make their sound.  We made lots of noise, playing our instruments when an animal picture was held up.
