IDL Scottish Islands

We are learning about Scottish Islands for our IDL work this term. We are exploring island life, the type of work done on the island and sorting photos of busy mainland life compared to quieter island life. We have been successful learners when taking part in class discussions.

I was very happy to see many of my class on Vscene last week and look forward to having more join our session this week.  This week will be filled with more stories, movement and we will try a music lesson.

Let’s start the week with some positive thoughts.  We know this is tough and the Oak staff miss you all very much.  Always remember to stay home and stay safe and we will be back together soon.

IDL Scotland

We enjoyed taking part in our IDL topic work this week.  We are learning about Scottish music past and present.  Confident individuals all round when sharing their opinions and all actively engaged in the activities.

We created posters to identify the locations that our Scottish artists originated from.  We started in Kilmarnock and then used our knowledge of directional awareness to follow verbal instructions to find the next location.

IDL – Edinburgh

We have finalised our IDL Scotland topic work by having a Scottish breakfast and then creating a tour guide poster for Edinburgh.

We were effective contributors when getting everything prepared for the breakfast, at the same time another group were making mint aero tray bake for Café Latte tomorrow.

Next term we are exploring the great outdoors for our new IDL topic, the Oak room will be experiencing camping and walking.  We all worked together to build a tent in class.

IDL – Our Country

We completed a jigsaw map of Scotland for our IDL topic.  We identified all the cities within Scotland and highlighted the city we are learning about, which is Edinburgh.

Confident individuals all around, we listened to the city name and found the correct written word.  They had to look at the big map on the smartboard and find the same location on their map once they completed the jigsaw.
