Successful Learners – ILP Targets

The Transition class were Successful Learners when working towards their ILP targets. The different tasks included, matching time to a TV schedule, sequencing science methods, improved writing confidence, reading and understanding and communication. Everyone worked very well and is making good progress.

Successful Learners – SQA Coooking

There was a lot going on in the cooker room on Wednesday. The class were Successful Learners making mashed potato, plant based hot chocolate and scrambled eggs. Everyone contributed very well and seemed to enjoy the different hot chocolate. The opinions on the vegan cheese were mixed!

Successful Learners – SQA Community Activity

The Transition class took advantage of the snowy weather last week to demonstrate their planning skills for their SQA Community Activity unit. The were Successful Learners reading the weather forecast before selecting extra clothing to go outside. They also chose their litter pickers and bag holder. We will continue this in the coming weeks, hopefully with less snow!

Responsible Citizens – LGBT work

The Transition class were Responsible Citizens when they undertook some LGBT work. We looked at the LGBT flag and selected colours to replicate it on a bracelet. We then studied some artists that were persecuted for their role in the LGBT community. We decided to use the flag colours to make some of our own graffiti work.

Successful Learners – Literacy

The Transition class were Successful Learners when they used their literacy skills to express their opinions. They added text to their favourite characters and then spent some time discovering dislikes. This was a hard task because everyone seemed to like everything. We soon found some things that no-one liked!

Confident Individuals – Drake Music

The Transition class took part in a Drake Music session. They were Confident Individuals and used their numeracy skills to follow the pattern on the screen, making sure to play their instrument at the correct time.

Effective Contributors – P.E.

It was Yoga time in P.E. again for the Transition class. They were Effective Contributors taking part very well by listening and watching instructions and following them. A great way to start the week

Confident Individuals – Feelings and senses

The Transition class were Confident Individuals when choosing their feelings during different tasks. The class tried a mint sweet and shared how this made their mouths feel. Some pupils didn’t enjoy the mint and shared this with the rest of the class. Some pupils enjoyed the mint and shared their feeling with the class. some feelings were ‘wiggly’, ‘cold’ and ‘jaggy’.

After ward the class removed their socks and shoes and placed their feet onto the carpet. They all selected symbols to share how their feet felt with the rest of the class.

Successful Learners – ILP target work

The Transition class worked hard on their ILP targets this week. Due to the Winter Olympics starting this week most tasks had a flavour of the Olympics. Tasks ranged from designing new curling tops, fine motor control over winter sport patterns, matching patterns and drawing winter sports by following coordinates.

Effective Contributors – Yearbook

The Transition class spent a nostalgic afternoon looking at photographs. They were Effective Contributors selecting pictures that show friendship and working together at this task. It was great to see photographs when everyone was much younger.
