Morning
Good morning everyone,
This week we are exploring poetry!
Today’s topic is food.
Activities to choose from:
Enjoy the following poems about food (they may also give you some ideas for your own poems):
The Pancake
Mix a pancake,
Stir a pancake,
Pop it in the pan.
Fry the pancake,
Toss the pancake,
Catch it you can.
Christina Rossetti
Sounds Good!
Sausage sizzles,
crispbreads crack;
hot dogs hiss
and flapjacks snap!
Bacon boils
and fritters fry;
apples squelch
in apple pie.
Baked beans bubble,
gravy grumbles;
popcorn pops,
and stomach rumbles …
I’m Hungry!
Judith Nicholls
Peas
I eat my peas with honey,
I’ve done it all my life,
They do taste kind of funny,
But it keeps them on the knife.

Good luck!

We often often use a giant scrunchie in lessons (sometimes called a Magical Musical Circle). They help everyone move to the music or at least feel the rhythm together.
These are large stretchy bands covered in fabric and you probably won’t have one at home. Instead you can:
You can make your own one very simply by tying a knot in a scarf. It’s best if it isn’t a special one, in case it stretches out of shape. You can use it with one or more partners or own your own. Maybe it’s possible to make a bigger one by using more scarves tied together. Try it and see.
Some classes like to sing Sally Go Round the Sun, so in this video Gordon shows that song. Remember, you can use the Magical Musical Circle in lots of ways. Have fun!
The giant scrunchie (known as a stretchy band in America if you’re looking online) can be used in many different ways to encourage movement to music and songs. Once you have tried these, there are more on the internet and you can of course have fun making up your own.

Hello everyone,
How are you today. Today I feel like Mr Grumpy again because I have just checked the weather forecast and today is the last sunny day for a while.
Tonight it is going to rain!
I am definitely going to spend as much time outdoors today as possible!
For movement, lets go outside for some morning stretches.
For Life-skills today is there anything you need to sort out in your garden before the rain comes? Do you need to put away toys and games or take in blankets and cushions? How about checking that the plant pots are somewhere where the rain can water them.
First lesson of the day is ICT so check out Kirsty’s posts in the ICT section.
Then it is time for Dance with Rachel – Great!
Have a break and then it is story-time at 10.30. Today’s story is
Then it’s time to check out Sign of the Day with Lorna.
In Fiddly Fingers there is another origami animal to try. Today, try making a jumping frog.
Then it is time for lunch. I’ll be having my lunch outside today because I think it will be too cold to go outside tomorrow.
After lunch it is time for Gardening / CDT with Scott. I wonder if he is getting things sorted in his garden before the rain arrives?
Last thing of the day is Health and Well-being. Why not make a Happy Poster? Think of all the things that make you happy and then write or draw them on a poster. Decorate your poster and then find somewhere to put it to remind you of all your happy things.
Have a great day.
