Welcome back from Mrs Webster!

Good morning, Boys and Girls.

Welcome back to a new term. I am really missing you all.

I hope you have all had a lovely Easter break. Maybe you have been enjoying the sunshine or playing in the garden? I would love to know what you have been doing!

I have had a lovely Easter. I have been in my garden and have even been bouncing on the trampoline with my little boy! I have also been doing fitness programmes and dancing to keep healthy. I have been speaking with my family and friends on the phone. I also take shopping to my Mum and Dad because they cannot leave the house.

I hope you will send me some of your news or show me some of the things you have been doing too!

Take care and keep smiling!

Mrs Webster

Welcome Back!

Hello everyone,

I hope you have all had a fun Easter holiday. I have had a lovely time with my family relaxing and spending time together. We are going to be posting some ideas of activities that you can do over the course of the week . For now, why not take part in Joe Wick morning workout which was live earlier this morning. It is a great way to start the day.

Remember to keep counting the rainbows!

Welcome Back!

Welcome back everyone,

I hope you had a wonderful Easter break – a little bit different to normal I imagine, but I hope you all managed to have fun, to relax and to spend some time (in person or on the phone/internet) with friends and family.

I had a nice Easter doing lots of cooking, some drawing and a bit of decorating. Our dog, Bennie, has decided he likes sitting beside the window because he is quite nosy and likes to look into the garden to spy on any birds and cats. We have been enjoying the lovely Spring weather and all the new flowers near us, have you seen any nice signs of Spring? It seems to have arrived at last!

Here is a link to a fun pattern song that we like to dance to in P1B:

Perhaps ask an adult to skip the adverts. This song reminds me of all the fun we have together, and also it is fitting because we always say that in P1B, the B stands for brilliant and… totally bananas!!! I miss you all very much and can’t wait to hear about some of the learning and playing you are doing at home.

Take care everyone,

Mrs Jamieson

Good Morning, Primary 2A

Welcome back to Term 4.  I hope you all had a fun Easter holiday and managed to get outdoors and enjoy our lovely weather.  How many of you managed to see  beautiful daffodils dancing in the breeze?

Welcome back everyone 🌈

Welcome back to term 4. I hope you have had a nice relaxing Easter break and ready to get started. I definitely enjoyed seeing the sunshine and eating a few Easter eggs. 😊

I have also enjoyed seeing all the beautiful rainbows in windows as we have been out for  our daily walk.
Do you have one in your window? Why not share it with us. If you haven’t done one, maybe you could make one this week.
Be creative in your ideas.

Here is mine. 🌈

On your next walk, try to count how many rainbows you see!

Have a good first day back. Get in touch with any questions.

Welcome to Term 4!

Hello P3A,

I hope you are staying safe and have had a fun holiday with your families.  It would be really great to see some photos of any activities or work you have been doing at home.  Post them here for us to see!  This week’s P3 home learning files are on the school website and I’ve allocated everyone new games to play on Heinemann Active.  Let me know if you’re enjoying the games and I can add more for you!

Monday 20th April – Primary 2

Welcome back! Here are a few things for you to try today.

Numeracy: Watch Miss McDermott’s post about measuring.

What things can you measure inside and outside? Record your measuring.

Who would need to measure things as part of their job? Can you name some things used for measuring?

Craft Challenge!

Can you make something useful from your old Easter egg boxes and packaging? Or try and make something from your recycling rubbish.

Daily Activity:

Make sure you get outside today for some fresh air. Go for a family walk, take out your bike, build a den in the garden, go on a bug hunt, do some accurate measuring or even help hang out the washing!

Number Fact Families Game – try ‘Up to 100’

Monday 20th April – Primary 1

Hi there, here are a few activities to try today.

Literacy –

Create a story starring the ORT characters – Mum, Dad, Biff, Chip, Kipper and Floppy.  Draw what they did as a family while they were in lockdown and write what you can about it.

Numeracy – Symmetry

Butterfly wings are beautiful examples of symmetry, which means that the wings on one side of the body match the wings on the opposite side of the body. Instead of the word match, let’s say the wings are mirror images of each other like this one –

Butterfly With Open Wings Top View, The Symmetrical Drawing ...

Discover for Yourself

You can use an index card to make symmetrical butterfly wings. Note: An unlined index card works best for this activity. The bigger the card, the bigger the wings.

1. Fold the index card in half by placing the short sides together.

2. Draw butterfly wings on the folded card as shown.

3. Cutting through both layers of the card, cut around the wing drawing. DO NOT CUT ON THE FOLD.

4. Open up the cut out design.

5. Using liquid paints, such as water soluble acrylic paints or tempra paints, place dots of different colors on the wings as shown.

6. Fold the the wing in half along the fold line, and then with your fingers press the wings together. You want to spread the colored dots paint.

7. Unfold the wings and VOILA’ you have beautifully colored symmetrical butterfly wings.

Discover For Yourself:

How would the following affect the appearance of the butterfly wings?

1. changing the amount of paint used for each dot

2. the colors used for the dots

3. the number of dots used

DARE TO BE CREATIVE!!!! if you don’t have paint try food instead!

Science – Life Cycles

At this time of year you might notice more wildlife. Birds are singing more and building nests. I have noticed some bumble bees around, dotting from spring flower to flower. I have not seen any butterflies yet – do you know where they come from?

Investigate the life cycle of a butterfly.
Activity: Watch the Very Hungry Caterpillar.

Can you draw a picture of each stage of the butterfly life cycle. Why do you think it is called a life cycle? Can you think of any other life cycles?

Go and explore in your garden or if you go for a walk. Look closely under stones or logs, on leaves and plants. What can you find? Listen to the sounds. What can you hear, see and smell?

Make up a dance or drama about the life cycle of a butterfly.

Have fun. Send pictures or videos of anything you do to your teacher.
