P2/1 Home Learning Reflection W/E Friday 1st May 2020

Good afternoon Primary 2/1. Here we are at the end of another week.  Thank you again to the boys and girls who have shared their learning with me through photos or videos in emails from your parents.  You have certainly been busy bees this week.

P1’s Literacy learning has been focused around the ‘er’ sound and the tricky word ‘two’. For literacy we have been creating spelling flowers, made our own word searches playing roll and read or the ‘er’ words matching game. We have got a colourful spelling garden now.

In Numeracy and Maths the focus for this week was money again. We made coin rubbings, watched Elmo videos, played Kim’s game or were identifying change from 20p. I have received some lovely colourful coin rubbings. We also took part in a Sumdog challenge.

P2’s focus in Literacy this week has been on the ‘ea’ spelling pattern, going on a noun hunt, exploring EPIC!, reading books for enjoyment or writing a spring adventure story. In Numeracy and Maths the focus this week was again on fractions and finding halves and quarters of amounts. We had to sort halves and quarters into a table and put ingredients on a pizza. We also took part in a class Sumdog challenge on money.

This week when exploring under the sea, the children have written letters or phoned their friends or family to let them know they were successful in their application to be a marine biologist. Some children have been making their own Scuba diving costume or making sea creature masks.

In Science, we have been exploring minibeasts and this week we played what minibeast am I game and classified minibeasts.

Just a wee reminder that Monday and Tuesday are holidays for the children. Have a lovely long weekend and here are a few photos of the learning that has been taken place.

P3 Home learning so far!

Good morning.

I just wanted to show you all the wonderful work Primary 3 have sent me so far. I am so proud of you all. Well done!

Here are some videos which were sent to me. Rocket launch! I think they reached the moon and back! Well done.

Primary 3 Maths

Good morning Primary 3,

Here are some maths sheets on ordering fractions on a number line which you were doing in your task yesterday.

t-n-6098-counting-in-fractions-number-line-activity-sheets-_ver_1

Look at what number the fractions start with and follow the pattern. Remember that when a fraction is complete e.g. 2/2 or 3/3 etc. It becomes a whole number. For example, 1, 1 1/2, 2, 2 1/2, 3 etc.

Monday is the May holiday and Tuesday is an in-service day, so enjoy the long weekend and I will post more work and a new learning grid to be completed next week.

I hope that you are all okay.

Keep safe and well.

Mrs Love
