The children told us all about Equity at Calderwood and their important role in deciding how our Participatory Budget is spent.ย  They did an amazing presentation and we are so proud of each and every one of our learners.

Burns Clan then spent some time with their adults, sharing more of their learning from the year so far.

P6 and P7 Bonfire and Fireworks Safety Talk

On Thursday, 31st October, we were delighted to welcome two colleagues from Livingston Fire Station to speak to our P6 and P7 clans about the importance of staying safe on Bonfire Night.

Many of the children were then motivated to make their own posters about staying safe with sparklers and only allowing adults to let off fireworks.

Thank you to Livingston Fire Station for giving up their time to speak to our children.

A big thanks also goes out to two of our parents for arranging and running trials for this event, and for supporting the team at the Festival – we really appreciate this.

Our Very First House Meetings!

This afternoon, we had our very first House Meetings in our four houses:

Fallow, Red, Roe and Sika.

Our Junior Leadership did a fantastic job introducing themselves properly to all of our houses and sharing more about themselves.ย  The children then got the chance to speak to someone they didn’t already know, or find out something new about someone that they did know.

There was such a sense of belonging, particularly as the children wore their house colours.

We look forward to our next house meetings!
