We have been busy working on our Glendevon 2025 class charter this term. We felt it was important to demonstrate how fulfilling and maintaining each of the articles will look for each member of Glendevon as we are all unique whilst supporting the development of a happy and fun classroom. We are looking forward to adding to our photo collage throughout the year.
Last week we held our Global Goals Week highlighting the 3 Goals we will be working toward over the year.
This year we will be highlighting the following Global Goals:
GG3: Good Health & Wellbeing
Some of us made smoothies and/ or fruit salads, we all participated in physical activities and daily story massage.
GG12: Responsible Consumption
Beatlie display great responsibility with their consumption and we daily participate in recycling daily recyclables and through our art and craft activities we enjoy upcycling something from school to make something new. Some of us had fun taking part in these activities over the week.
GG15: Life on Land
We enjoyed fun participating in a Biodiversity Hunt in the garden finding bug hotels, hedgehog house etc. We also got messy making Bird Feeders and doing some gardening as well as making the most of the weather and observing nature all around us while going on community walks.

Today 4 of our athletes represented Beatlie at the ASN Fun Run at Cedarbank School.
The boys took part in the 0.5km walk/run 🏃♂️➡️ and placed 4th, 9th and 12th out of 20 competitors.
In the 1km wheelchair race our female athlete came 1st!! 🥳
We are super proud of them as this was a really busy event with lots of new faces and an unfamiliar route.
I can’t believe that we are almost at the end of the school year – what an amazing year it has been.
The boys had an amazing time rounding up our seaside topic with a visit to a beautiful Fife beach – Burntisland.
We all had fun exploring in the sand and building sandcastles with plenty of volunteers to knock these over.
Everyone splashed and paddled in the sea and was able to communicate through vocalisations, body tone and facial expression how cold it was (at first we soon got used to it).
We had a fish and chip lunch and had plenty of seagull eye watching for a stray chip and just like our sensory story we had a dog at the beach (Poppy) who came to join our picnic and stole Matthew’s pizza! Just as well we had bought more than one 🙂
We even had a chance to win a prize playing hook a duck at the funfair.
And a trip to the beach wouldn’t be complete without a taste of melted ice cream (Glendevon made of course).

I can’t believe we are so close to the end of term. What a busy term it has been! We have been focusing on our community this term. We have had lots of opportunities to get out and about on local walks, looking for signs of spring, visits to xcite cafe, Pumpherston park, Craigmair nursing home, Jaks’ Den and Almondale farm! The children have really enjoyed these new experiences and have got lots out of the different visits.
The parks proved popular with everyone, the swings, trampolines and sand pits were definitely favourites. We also really enjoyed our own garden and playground and have been making the most of the nice weather by splashing in our paddling pool too!
We enjoyed making cards for people in the community that help us and we also raised money for a local charity, Jaks’s den by baking sweet treats and selling them in school. We raised a whopping £300!
I have been so impressed by all of the children’s progress this term too. Each and everyone of them has worked so hard on their targets and made really positive steps. I hope everyone has a well earned rest over summer and we look forward to seeing you all soon! 
We have had another super busy term in Ochiltree, it’s absolutely flown in and we can’t believe it’s already the end of another school year. We’ve had lots of fun this term, some of our favourite activities were completing our mini marathon and getting stuck into our gardening project. We went for a visit to Dobbies to choose some plants and we loved looking at the fish in the aquarium. We’ve also been really enjoying exploring all the different recreation opportunities out in the community such as golf, yoga, bowling, shopping and art and we had a super end of term trip to the farm where we enjoyed seeing all the animals and having fun in the outdoor play areas.

I cannot believe that the end of the school year is upon us again – it has passed in a flash but such good memories and achievements along the way!
I am so proud of the achievements the children have made and the support the team have provided to ensure they have had the best time exploring, trying new things, communicating, relaxing and generally having so much fun!
We have enjoyed getting out and about in the community – especially this term visiting all the different country parks but also our community walks, litter picks and bear hunts! The class have also enjoyed the use of bicycles, wheelchair bike and drive deck out in the playground and confidence has grown to try out different resources such as the swings, roundabout, bridges and climbing apparatus. We have also made good use of all the indoor resources too with the favourite being the hydro and rebound.
Thank you and well done to class of 24/25. We look forward to next year and welcoming our new friends as well as wishing those moving class the best of luck.
We have had another fantastic time in Pentland over the past few months. We have been so lucky with the weather and have been out enjoying our wonderful playground as often as we can. We have each had a great time riding our bikes/trikes and are getting more and more confident with them.
We have been busy out and about for walking month in May taking part in lots of activities about the rainforest and some of us have been out swimming or at the theatre which we have loved. We have also had lots of lovely visitors to our class including the Clown Doctors who we just love and have so much fun with!
We have had a brilliant year this year and have all worked so hard. We hope everyone has an amazing summer and we are looking forward to all of our exciting activities in the new term.
