P4, P4/5S and the P4s from P3/4 had a fantastic time at their Christmas party on Monday afternoon.
P4/5S had great fun exploring how Apple Clips can be used to showcase their learning. Mr Bunce visited the class to demonstrate how the App could be used to present topic facts in a fun and interesting way. The children were delighted with the results.
P4/5S have been busy over the past few weeks developing skills in lots of areas.

We used the I-Pads to carry out research on Dr Seuss. We then used our facts to create Dr Seuss posters.
In Big Writing we have been learning to plan and write our own stories. We looked at the structure of a good story.
We’ve been developing our ball skills in P.E.
Primary one are thoroughly enjoying their new topic Fairyland. Since the first Friendly Dragon visit, the children have been very busy transforming their classroom.
Today the children welcomed, a very tall, Paul Farley (Miss Farley’s brother) into their class. The boys and girls wanted to make a giant to display with their Jack and the Beanstalk work but needed a very tall person to draw around. Paul very kindly agreed to help us.
The children loved comparing heights!
We’ve got the right size! All that’s needed now is some paint.

Primary 1 were very excited this morning when they discovered the Friendly Dragon had visited the class again. This time he left a parcel containing everything the children need to grow their own beanstalks in the classroom.
The children couldn’t wait to get started.
We even made castles and clouds for the beanstalks to grow up to!
Today something very strange, but exciting happened in Primary One. We arrived into class this morning to find that we had had a visitor through the night!
All that was left were very large, glittery footprints, a copy of Jack and the Beanstalk and a letter.
We read the letter to find that it was from a friendly dragon who lived in a faraway place called Fairyland. The dragon told us he was very sad because Fairyland was disappearing as a result of children not believing in or reading enough fairy tales. He has asked us to try our best to rebuild Fairyland in our classroom, read lots of fairy tales and, of course, keep believing in them!
Primary 1S had a great time celebrating Halloween with their P1F friends. We saw lots of wonderful dancing!
We are learning the first 6 sounds, s, a, t, p, i and n.
We thought it would be fun to look for objects beginning with these sounds at home for homework.
There was lots of discussion the following week in class about the objects and their initial sound.
