Zoolab visited P5/6 and P6 this week to talk about Deadly and Dangerous Animals and their relatives. It was fantastic we met and learned about several animals.

Founders For Schools Visit P5 & P5/6
P5/6 and P6 had a visit from Cathy Gladwin the creator of the Hob Angel from Founders4 Schools today.
It was a really interesting talk.
P5/6 Try Out More Instruments
We tried out our final instruments this week before forming our band.
P5/6 Decorate Their Pneumatic Crocodiles
We are making pneumatic crocodiles from egg boxes, balloons and tubing.
Here we are in the early stages of decoration. We will keep you posted on our models.
P5/6 Try Out Some New Instruments
P5/6 tried out the clarinet and the euphonium this week.
They are having a wonderful time learning all about these instruments.
P7 Girls Win Young Engineer Competition
Four P7 pupils entered the local heat of the Young Engineers Competition. Over a few months under the careful guidance of Mrs Calway a group of pupils built an electric car from wood, cardboard, batteries and wire. They then designed a theme for decorating their car and wrote a detailed report on their planning and design.
Lewis, Lucas, Samantha and Emily went to St Modan’s to test their car against five other teams from neighbouring schools. The cars were tested to see if they could run in a straight line and get up various gradients on a ramp. They were also questioned in depth about their designs.
Samantha and Emily won best design and best car overall! Congratulations on a well deserved win girls and to the boys who also made us proud.
P5/6A Cricket Taster Session
P5/6A had a taster cricket session today which was enjoyed by all.
P5/6A Try Out Instruments
P5/6A got to trial the flute and a trumpet to see if these were the instruments they wanted to select to learn how to play. Next week they will trial another two of the instruments we have been learning about.
P5/6 Program Spheres With An I Pad
P5/6A had a wonderful visit yesterday where they learned how to program a sphere to change colour, move in a compass set direction and even write their name on the floor.
It was a great session.
P5/6A Meet Some Chicks
Last Friday the newly hatched chicks came for a visit to our classroom. They were lovely.
We all had a chance to carefully handle a chick and learn a little about them.
