P5/6A built and decorated volcanoes from plastic bottles, clay and paint.
We then mixed washing up liquid, red food dye, warm water and bicarbonate of soda in a cup which we placed into our volcano.
We then went outside and added vinegar to our mixture and watched our volcanoes erupt.
We had great fun watching Mrs Abraham drop Eggy in our designs from the top of a ladder.
A great many fantastic designs saved Eggy when he fell and some failed to but whatever the result we enjoyed designing our VIE carriages.
P5/6A and P5 have been busy designing a safe method of transport for a very important egg whose mission would be to fly over and active volcano.
Their mode of transport will be tested by Mr Brown or Mrs Abraham dropping Eggy in his carriage from the top of a ladder.
Each design will be scored on safety, design, VIP decoration and comfort.
Starting to create our designs below.

P5/6A wrote and filmed a one minute news interview where they interviewed an eye witness to a natural disaster.
They used the I pads and Clips App to record their interviews.
P5/6A used M&M’s to identify, name, compare and add and subtract fractions.  With a treat at the end everyone listened well, worked hard and made no mistakes!
P5/6A made volcanoes in a bag. It was quite tricky to stick the volcano in the correct place with double sided tape and to keep the paint behind it while we sealed the bag. However it was great fun!
We finished our lighthouses with working lights and buzzers as foghorns today.
P5 & P5/6A went to visit Scotland Street Museum yesterday.
They toured the Museum, played with Victorian toys and had a fantastic drama session with a Victorian teacher.

We started to make our working model lighthouses for Science week today.
