Nativity Primary 1 and 2 – Everyone Loves a Baby

In class your child is beginning to learn the songs for the Nativity. This year we will be performing “Everyone Loves a Baby.”

The Nativity will be taking place on the 11th and 12th of December.  Information about tickets will be issued at a later date.

We would appreciate your support in learning the songs at home.  We are cutting back on photocopies and are trying to be eco-friendly so we will not be giving out paper copies of the words this year.  Instead you can find the songs on the following link

P1 Parents Workshop

On Thursday the 12th of September a parents workshop took place for all our new Primary 1 parents.  During the workshop we covered

  • How to support your child at home with all areas of their learning
  • How we deliver the RWI programme in school.
  • How we teach Maths in school
  • Play based learning in P1.

Here is the presentation that was used.  A leaflet and further information will be in every child’s school bag.

P1/2 J

Today we have learned some French phrases.  We now know how to use

Je m’appelle

J’ai

Je suis

J’aime

We had lots of fun making a human graph, ask us about it!

We made a woodland forest for the Gruffalo in Drama and we pretended to be little mice stepping through the deep dark wood.

World Book Day 🌎 📖

On Thursday 1st March 2018 we will be celebrating World Book Day in School by encouraging all children to come to school dressed up as their favourite book character!

We will also spend this week completing different book related activities in class and holding whole school DEAR times! We’ve also asked the pupils to find and be photographed in  the strangest place to read a book!

Thank you for all your support!

P1/2 Outdoor Learning

We talked about how to stay safe around the fire and what to do in an emergency.

We built the fire using the wood we had collected last week, it was nice and dry because it had been inside for a week.

We put the smaller sticks on first and then the larger ones.  We lit the fire and waited for it to get going.

In small groups we had fun toasting our bread on the skewers we had made.  When it was done we chose what we wanted to spread on it.  Some of us put butter on and some of us put jam.

We used water to put out the fire.
