Our House Captains :
Roles and responsibilities:
  • Promoting their House within the school
  • Leading House assemblies (dates to follow)
  • Acting as a positive role model
  • Showing visitors round the school, if and when needed
  • Collect and count-up House points weekly, monthly and termly
  • Help staff to organise House reward events

P1 Buddies

Roles and responsibilities
  • Help P1s continue to settle into school
  • Acting as a positive role model
  • Build confidence
  • Assist with learning and outdoor play
  • Cleaning and tidying play areas

School Reporters/Recognition Leaders

Roles and responsibilities
  • Designing Recognition Certificates
  • Leading Recognition Assemblies (dates to follow)
  • Taking photographs Recognition winners
  • Updating Twitter on a regular basis

Library Leaders

Roles and responsibilities
  • Ensure the library is a welcoming environment for all
  • Collect Accelerated Reading books on a Friday afternoon
  • Return items to appropriate shelves
  • Tidy shelves if all books have been returned
  • Assist pupils in locating books within the library if needed
  • Work with staff to organise yearly events such as World Book Day
  • Create displays and posters for the library

Junior Sports Leaders

Roles and responsibilities
  • Planning and delivering lunchtime clubs
  • Planning and delivering PE lessons
  • Lead teams at competitive and non-competitive events throughout the year
  • Help Mrs Edmiston to plan and organise sporting events
  • Lead sporting events throughout the year
  • Assist with Sport Scotland Gold Award (due to be renewed this school session)

In addition to these roles, all P7 pupils will be paired up and will be Wet Play Monitors. They will go to their allocated class on a wet break and supervise the class. This will take pressure off of School Assistants. This will be on a rotational basis.
