Welcome to Primary 7 where we enjoy all aspects of our learning. This year, our teacher is Mrs Edmiston. We are class of 22 pupils who are all keen and excited to learn. Our school values are READY, RESPECTFUL and SAFE and they guide us in all that we do.
This term, we are focusing on our class novel Divided City by Theresa Breslin, set in Glasgow. The story follows two boys from different sides of the city and different religions, who are brought together by football and a terrible event. They navigate a city divided by religious and social differences, exploring themes of discrimination, identity, and belonging. Most of our Literacy and HWB work is based around Divided City, helping us understand how divisions can affect communities—and how empathy and understanding can make a difference.
In Maths, we are developing our understanding of place value, learning about integers, and practising how to multiply and divide by 10, 100, and 1,000. We use a range of written tasks, puzzles, challenges, and games to build and apply our skills.
We are excited to step into our important P7 leadership roles within our school. We are learning to lead by example, work cooperatively and make a positive impact in our school.
Jade Davis, our Active Schools Coordinator, is leading us through the Junior Coaching Academy every Tuesday, helping us develop skills to lead activities and games for younger pupils.
Mr Thompson, our vocal coach, joins us every Wednesday afternoon—look out for an exciting performance based on the musical Oliver in December!
Miss McFarlane will also be in our classroom on Wednesday and Thursday, focusing on Outdoor Learning and Children’s Rights.
Make sure to follow the school’s social media to see our daily learning experiences unfold!
