Primary 4/5

This year our teacher is Mrs Wilcox and Miss McFarlane. We have 25 pupils in our class. In our class we show we are ready, respectful and safe.

  • In Maths this term with Mrs Willcox we will be focusing on measure by exploring capacity, weight, volume and length. We will also be exploring a range of addition and subtraction strategies throughout the term. Pupils will be explore 2D and 3D shapes and their properties.
  • In Literacy, we are reading The Creakers as our book study. Through this book we will explore a range of comprehension, grammar, vocabulary and writer techniques/styles to help improve our own understanding and writing skills.
  • In Physical Education we will be developing our ball skills focusing on a range of different passes and catches using our hands. We will then start to develop our balls skills further by using them in a practical game of netball.
  • P4 are lucky enough to have a music specialist in leading lessons on singing.  During this time P5s will be developing an understanding of rhythm and beats through body percussion.
  • Pupils will undertake a block of work on self-esteem, developing skills to manage a range of feelings and helping them appreciate their value as individuals.
  • P4/5 are taking on a leadership role, leading ‘Eco-Schools’ across the school.  The pupils have decided on a group name ‘Eco Crew’ and they will gather data on the school environment, and co-create an action plan for the school to help achieve a Green Flag Award.
  • We are very excited to be using both ipads and laptops this term and are looking forward to continuing to develop our technology skills weekly.
  • Keep checking X for regular updates of what we have been up to each week in class!
