P3 Blurb Term 3

Happy New year from Primary 3! We are so excited and glad to be back at school! We have started the new term off by making sure we are demonstrating our school values: Ready, Respectful and Safe!

In Literacy this term we are learning ‘Street Talk’ by JK Annand as part of Primary 3’s Scots Verse Competition. We are continuing to learn our spelling sounds as per South Ayrshire Reads. We also have an exciting new book study. We are reading You’re a Bad Man Mr Gum! We will be focusing on grammar, punctuation and sentence structure. In Writing, we will delve into persuasive letters and creative writing.

In Numeracy and Maths, we are focusing on Data Handling, Fractions and Measure. We are exploring the importance of data and relating it to our daily lives. We will also keep working on our times tables facts throughout this term.

In HWB we are going to look at the importance of healthy eating and exercise and the impact it has on our bodies and mind. We are also fortunate to have Mr Crookston for PE this term! He will help us develop our skills in Gymnastics.

Finally, we are also embarking on a journey through Ancient Egypt! We are looking forward to learning all about Pyramids, Pharaoh’s, Hieroglyphics and so much more!
