Primary 2/3- Term 4

We are continuing in our class to try our best to demonstrate the school values – ready, respectful and safe.

• In Numeracy this term we will be focusing on multiplication and division.  We will introduce Number of the Day and learners will work on this daily to reinforce a range of numeracy skills.  In Maths we will be working on position and movement as well as data handling.
• In Literacy, we continue to work hard to develop our skills in phonics.  We are learning to blend (read) and segment (spell) words using different approaches and strategies.  We have also started our new Book Study: “The Enormous Crocodile” by Roald Dahl.  This book study will form part of our IDL work where we will be looking further at nature.
• Our Talk 4 Writing topic is called “The Magic Porridge Pot” and we will be developing our writing skills through this story.
• In Health and Wellbeing, we are moving on from our previous topic on Feelings and Emotions and exploring relationships.  We will look at friendship and learn all about what makes a good friend!
