Primary 1 – Term 2

In term 2 we are continuing to build on the routines of the class.  We are learning about the school values, Ready, Respectful and Safe. We have lots on this term with Halloween, Bonfire night and the Christmas Season not too far away.

 

• In Maths this term we are learning about time. We are learning about days of the week, months of the year, seasons and moving on to telling the time using o’clock times with digital and analogue clocks.  We continue to keep working on numbers to 20,  through play tasks and songs.

 

• In Literacy, we are continuing to learn sounds, 2 a week. We are writing through Talk for Writing.

 

• In P.E we are working on basic skills such as throwing, catching and working in a safe space.

 

• We are learning to scan QR codes using the ipad and play numeracy and literacy games to help us develop our skills.

 

• Miss McFarlane continues to take us for outdoor learning on a Tuesday.  She will be teaching about how to look after plants and outside spaces amongst other activities

 

• Our topic is ‘People who Help Us’. We have already been speaking about jobs that people do and have some interesting visitors lined up to come and have a chat with us.  Please get in touch if you feel this is something you would like to help us with.
