Primary 1 – Term 3
Wow! Term 3 already! We are enjoying being back in school and are continuing to follow the school values; Ready, Respectful and Safe. We are already busy learning lots of new and exciting things! Here are some of the things we are up to;
- In Maths this term we have a big focus on adding and subtracting. We are continuing to work on our knowledge of odd and even numbers, counting in 2s, counting and writing numbers to 20, and learning number words!
- In Literacy, we are using Talk for Writing and the ‘Supertato’ books to develop our writing skills. We are continuing to learn lots of new sounds, we have finished all the initial sounds and are now working on diagraphs and how to write them properly.
- In P.E we are working with Mr Crookston who is a P.E. specialist. He is taking the class on a Monday. Our other P.E. day is Friday.
- We are learning to use simple coding on the Laptops and are using the app ‘Teach Your Monster to Read’ to continue to work on new and previous sounds covered.
- Miss McFarlane is now taking us for outdoor learning on a Friday. She will be looking at planting amongst other activities.
- Keep checking Teams for homework and regular updates of what we have been up to each week in class
