Primary 6/7 – Term 1

Hello!  We are Primary 6/7!

This year, our teacher is Miss Cowie.  We have 22 pupils in our class: 12 P6 pupils and 10 P7 pupils.  We have 13 boys and 9 girls.  Miss McFarlane will work in our class on a Thursday morning where she will focus on Outdoor Learning as well as RME and Children’s Rights.

In P6/7, we try hard to show that we are always READY, RESPECTFUL and SAFE.

  • In Numeracy and Maths, we will be focusing on place value of whole numbers, place value of decimal fractions, rounding whole numbers, rounding decimal fractions, greater than and less than, multiplying and dividing by multiples of 10, 100 and 1000, integers and multiples, factors and prime numbers.
  • Our class novel this term is ‘Holes by Louis Sachar. We will use this novel to look at themes such as friendship, kindness, equality and tolerance of all cultures, religions, faiths and lifestyles.
  • Mr Thompson will work with our class every Wednesday. We will be learning how to sing and how to follow performance directions.  Look out for a special performance in December.
  • Our PE days this term will be on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
  • We will take part in a live French lesson on the first Tuesday of every month. This will be led by Mrs Ledingham.
  • P6 will have Bikeability sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays led by Mr McLeod and Peter from Dolphin House. As this is a Level 2 grading, children will be training out in the community.  A letter has been sent out with information regarding this.
  • P7 will undertake leadership duties on a Friday afternoon. We have already started working on our leadership roles and we are very excited about the year ahead.

Remember to ask us all about our learning and keep an eye on X and Teams as we will regularly share our learning on these platforms.
