Primary 1/2 – Term 4

We have 24 pupils in our class.  We have 14 P2 pupils and 10 Primary 1 pupils.  Also joining us is Miss Petrovsky.  She is a student teacher and will be working within our class for 6 weeks.  We continue to demonstrate our school values of ready, respectful and safe.

• In Literacy we will be starting a new book study based on the book “Tyrannosaurus Drip” by Julia Donaldson.  Through the story, we will complete lots of fun literacy activities as well as exploring themes such as bullying and acceptance.  We will continue to build our knowledge in phonics and strategies to help us in our reading.
• In Maths this term we will be focusing on numeracy, especially subtraction, fractions and money.  We will also be looking further at measure – weight and capacity.
• This term, we will continue to work with our PE specialist, Mr Crookston.
• In Science, we will be exploring Living and Non-Living Things. We will be learning about plants and investigating what they need to help them grow!
• We will continue to develop our technology skills weekly with the school iPads and laptops. We will be having lots of fun on the interactive whiteboard as well.
