Welcome to Alloway Early Years Centre. We provide a safe, happy, purposeful and nurturing environment where everyone feels valued and respected. We are a vibrant Early Years Centre with spaces for 60 children. We are open from 9am – 3pm daily. Children in our centre are happy and motivated and enjoy learning through natural curiosity and inquiry.
In Alloway EYC we aim to provide a service of the highest quality for you and your child by:
- Providing a safe, welcoming environment in which your child will feel happy, secure and valued.
- Providing a stimulating learning environment meeting the developmental needs and interests of your child.
- Offering a range of learning experiences and activities to foster the emotional, social, physical, creative and intellectual development of your child.
- Nurturing, challenging and supporting your child in all aspects of his/her development.

Speech and Language
Development of speech and language is incredibly important in the early years. In South Ayrshire we work closely with the Speech and Language Therapy team. Please feel free to contact SLT team or Early Years Centre staff for more information or if you have a concern. Early intervention is key and NHS Speech and Language services offer a virtual drop in or phone helpline which allows parents/carers to discuss any concerns with a therapist.
Policies
We review our policies annually to ensure that they are current. We have electronic copies available of all our policies. If you wish a copy please email Alloway.Mail@south-ayrshire.gov.uk and request a copy. A hard copy of the folder is available in our welcome corridor.
A full list of of policies can be found here –
All policies can be accessed through the Policy section on the school website.
SAC Family Learning Worker
Our family learning worker is Nicola Lawrence. She runs PEEP and Bookbug sessions and engages with families for individual supports.
Duty of Candour
The new Duty of Candour came into effect on 1 April 2018. It affects all health, social work and care services except childminders. It means that services must take specific steps to carry out their Duty of Candour when a serious adverse event happens. They will need to let the people affected know, offer to meet with them, and apologise. This is an important part of being open with people who experience care, and also learning from things that go wrong.
