Eco Committee

Welcome to the Eco Committee. We will be focusing on the UNCIEF OutRight Campaign to empower children and young people to learn how climate change threatens children’s rights and how we can protect them. We are excited to share what we learn with our peers across the school and in the community.

Our Eco-Committee is very proud of our Green flag status and we work hard to maintain this. https://www.keepscotlandbeautiful.org/sustainable-development-education/eco-schools/green-flag-award/

  • UNCRC Article 4 – Making rights real
  • Global Goal 17 – Partnerships for the goals

The Eco Committee is led by Mr Hall.

Here is a project from last year which our previous Eco committee were very proud of.

Clothing Bank

At Alloway Primary School our lost property was getting out of control. The Eco council decided to do something about it. They sorted the clothes into ages and some of the staff at Alloway took them home to wash. We then sorted them onto rails. We asked Gillian and Lisa in the library if they would be willing to have a rail of clothes for people to help themselves. They have helped us lots and often tidy it up when things get a bit messy.
