Blogging all over the World!!!

[kml_flashembed movie="sparkle - http://www.sparklee.com

We have been looking at the countries that have been visiting our blog over the past few months. We created flags and found out some facts about each country. We had 49 countries for what seemed like ages and we were really keen to reach the 50 country mark.

I am really pleased to let you know that we have reached the 50 country mark!!!!!!!!!!!! In fact we have fifty two countries. This is an amazing achievement Primary5 and you should all be very proud of this. Well done!!!

Sport’s day

We had a sports day today. Nicole and I were one of the helpers for the sports day we were helping p1 p1\2 and p3\4. I love sports day  because we get to do lots of different activites and we have to try and do our best to get points and at the end we get an ice-lolly and get a certificate if we are first second and third. I like geting first second and third. Last year mine and Nicoles was first but we are in separate teams this year because Nicole is yellow and I am green again, but it isn’t the colour that matters, it is the team work.We started at 10:45am to 12:00pm we are still wating for the results we are all so excited because we all want to win. Some people were videoing the sport’s day and some people were taking pictures. If you can me and nicole would like to know if you can write a comment about what you like about sports day.

Ten Pin Bowling Treat

After our weekly swimming lessons on Tuesday 3rd May, Mrs Gibb met us at the swimming and we walked to the bowling as a treat for being part of the Cracking Calendar Company.

Pro Bowl - Airdrie

We arrived at the bowling about 10.30am but the bowling wasn’t open yet. Oops a bit too keen!!

A bit too early P5!!!

We set up camp outside and ate our snack. The sun was starting to peek through the clouds but it was quite windy and our hair was wet because we came straight from swimming.

Tucking into our snack. Mmmm!!

After about ten minutes one of the bowling staff came and opened the door. We were so excited! We were organised into teams of 6 per lane.

Teaming up in lane Two

We collected the bowling balls and filled all of the racks. Some of the balls were really heavy so we decided not to put these on the rack. The blue ball was the lightest – about 6kg- but there wasn’t enough of them for everyone so we had to share them between all of the lanes. The green ball was the one that most of us used for our ten pin bowling. It was the second lightest – about 8kg.

A lonely green bowling ball

Then Mrs Wallace, Mrs Rawlinson and the  p1-2 class arrived and filled up the rest of the lanes. There were lots of parent helpers there to help the little ones. Gemmas’s Step Dad was one of the helpers. He helped the wee ones to lift the bowling ball on to the slide. We didn’t use the slide because we could manage to throw the bowling ball, but we did have the side rails up to stop the balls landing in the gutter all the time.

Lanes one to four with the side rails raised.
We put our names into the computer and now it was time to have some bowling fun!!!
Bowling is thirsty work so we had a wee break to get a drink of juice. We had the choice of orange or blackcurrant. It was very refreshing.
The competition was on to see who would be the winning team. It was boys versus girls.
The winning team was the boys who scored 581 points. Well done boys. 😀
We had a great day at the bowling and we had more fun to look forward to in the afternoon. BELLY DANCING!!!

**********One Wish**********

Having one wish and only one wish to use takes a lot of thought. What would you do with the one wish?

The children in primary 5 had to consider this question. The catch is they can’t decide to wish for more wishes. That would be cheating – Wouldn’t it?

Here are some of the wishes that the children settled on.

I would use my one wish
*to have super strength
*to make everything in the world cost 10p
*to make everyone in the world children
*to make school a thing of the past!!
*to be able to speak and understand any language
*to go on holiday
*to talk to animals
*to be able to fly
*to bring back Dad
*to cure disease

It would be such a big responsibility to be given one wish and to have the power to use that wish in any way you wanted. I am not sure that I would like that responsibility. What do you think? Would you like to have one wish and what would you use it for?

Going Bowling

On May the third we are going bowling with primary 1-2 straight after swimming. It will be a blast. We earned this treat because we were part of  The Cracking Calendar Company  and we raised lots of money. This was part of our enterprise this year. We enjoyed working with Mrs Wallace and the P1-2 class to create posters advertising the sale of the calendars. We will post some pictures from our bowling fun soon!!!
