The Purpose of the Framework
The Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework helps learners, parents and employers better understand the wide range of qualifications and learning pathways available to young people in Scotland.
The framework brings together qualifications from schools, colleges, universities, apprenticeships and wider achievement programmes into one clear system, showing the level of learning achieved and the amount of credit gained.

The SCQF at Inverclyde Academy
At Inverclyde Academy, we are committed to ensuring that all young people are supported to achieve success through pathways which reflect their individual strengths, interests and future aspirations.
Through our work with the SCQF, we aim to raise awareness of the value of all learning and achievement, helping pupils and families to better understand progression routes into further education, higher education, training and employment.
Ongoing Work
As part of our ongoing commitment to improving learner pathways and attainment, we are continuing to develop opportunities for pupils to recognise and celebrate achievement across all areas of school life. This work also supports our whole-school commitment to promoting learner understanding of qualifications, skills, progression and achievement.
We encourage parents, carers and pupils to explore the information and resources available throughout this section of the website to support our young people to make informed choices and effectively plan for the future.
