Pupil Leadership Team

Hello! We are the Pupil Leadership Team at Inverclyde Academy, Hannah is our head pupil and our three deputes are Olivia, Zoe and Dylan.

As we are entering our sixth year at the school, we feel that Inverclyde Academy is a nurturing and safe environment for growing and learning. Our school community is welcoming to everyone, with learning support and extracurricular opportunities for all, regardless of the path they wish to take when their time here is over.

Through being on the Pupil Leadership Team, we are able to liaise with our junior and senior House Captains, who are involved in organising inter house events within the school, such as our big breakfast, merit award presentations and house token counts. We also will be working closely with our Pupil Parliament, who are our key pupil voice team. The Pupil Parliament have numerous specialised sub-committees which meet every week to discuss school improvement, in addition to having wider parliamentary meetings to regularly discuss school-wide initiatives and projects aimed at strengthening pupil voice in the school.

Some of our other pupil partnerships will include the Mental Health Ambassadors (these are senior pupils who are trained in providing peer mental health support for other young people in our school community), as well as our dedicated School Improvement Plan steering group, who will continue their work to implement our goals for visible learning and school improvement over the following three years.

Having the opportunity to be on the Pupil Leadership Team has meant that we have a hands on role in maintaining and improving the school, from expanding pupil voice avenues, to organising and attending school events. Our experience over this year will shape who we are as young people, while having a lasting, positive impact upon Inverclyde Academy.

We are thoroughly looking forward to leading the school throughout our next academic year!
