Room 2 and 3

What a lovely final week we’ve had to finish off the term! We enjoyed a very festive Christmas party, filled with fun, laughter and lots of smiles. We also spent time making beautiful Christmas cards, putting plenty of care and creativity into each one.

In room 3, our classroom elf kept us entertained all week, bringing extra excitement and fun to our days.

One of the highlights was getting the chance to sing our Nativity songs to Primary 2, 3, and 4. The children did a fantastic job and sang with such confidence and joy.

A big thank you to everyone for the thoughtful presents and lovely cards — they were so kind and very much appreciated.

We hope you all have an amazing Christmas holiday, filled with happiness, rest and special moments with family and friends. 🎅✨

Have a very merry Christmas from room 2 and 3!

Kind donation from United Sports

We were delighted this morning when Chris from United Sports came to deliver our new athletics kits. A huge “thank you” to them for sponsoring these kits which will be used for events such as cross-country and athletics.

We’re over the moon with them and some of our P7s were keen to model them for us this morning!

Merry Christmas from Room 1

Room 1 wanted to share some highlights from our final week before Christmas.

Well done to one of our pupils for taking part in a Santa Dash! She is so proud of her medal ❤️🎅🏼

We had a brilliant time at our party on Tuesday with all the Primary 1 classes. There was dancing, games, prizes and a special visitor 😁🎅🏼

We hope you liked your lovely hand made Christmas cards. What a creative bunch we have 😍🎨🖌️

Watch out Mary Berry, Room 1 are set to become the next star bakers with their wonderful fork biscuits. They added the ingredients, mixed, formed the dough and remembered to stay safe when working with ovens. Well done Room 1 ❤️

We enjoyed judging Room 23 and 24’s gingerbread houses and Santa sleighs! It was very hard to choose!

I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas, I have loved all the fun we have had in the lead up to Christmas ❤️

See you in January 🥰

Room 24 have had a very busy week indeed!

  • Our Christmas performance with room 23 on Monday was a great success – our pupils sure know how to dance!
  • Speaking of dancing, we’ve been practising our Scottish country dancing over the past few weeks too, and whisked each other round the hall during our Christmas party on Thursday.
  • Math learning this week has been Christmas themed with some festive fractions, percentages and coordinates tasks.
  • We’ve also been taking part in a STEM challenge to create a gingerbread house out of junk modelling materials. We’ll be continuing with these next week! Take a look at the photos to see our progress!

Room 1 – 12.12.25

Hello!
We have had a very busy week in Room 1!

– In maths we have been learning about measuring. We used cubes to find the length of objects outside and discussed if they were longer, shorter or the same as our cubes. A group of pupils used cubes and a measuring tape to measure the height of their ‘Hotel in Majorca’ during their play.

– We made Christmas crowns to wear to our Christmas lunch on Wednesday.

– Jingle McElfie used some amazing magic and grew in size! He is so impressed with the amazing work and kindness in Room 1

Reminder our Christmas party is on Tuesday next week 🎄

Have a lovely weekend everyone,

Miss McIver

Room 2! :-)

Room 2 have been feeling very festive this week.

On Wednesday, we had a Christmas lunch. The Primary 7’s put on some live entertainment, dancing along to some classic Christmas songs. The dining hall was decorated with lovely gold table covers and centrepieces and it looked amazing!

OMcM – I had steak pie.

LM – I had turkey.

SC – I had turkey too.

TD – We made Christmas placemats for our trays to go on.

MM – We did a colour competition (placemats) to see who could win. NP and TD won!

For Numeracy, our focus has been measure this week.

SC – We learned ‘long’ and ‘short’. We had to find things that are long and short.

MJ – We were measuring snakes and had to put the shortest to longest.

DP – We made cards with Miss Macfarlane and we also did them with our friends in Room 19.

ASC – We were decorating them with lots of bright colours and we were making a sign that said Merry Christmas.

On Tuesday 16th December, we will be having our class Christmas party. The children can come to school wearing their party clothes, there is no need to bring a change of clothes. Our party is in the morning. We will have PE on Monday 15th instead of Tuesday next week. Thank you for your support with this. 🙂

Room 3

We’ve had a busy and exciting week filled with new learning, hands-on activities and a little festive fun!

In Literacy, we introduced two new sounds: o and f. The children enjoyed practising their new sounds through games, magnetic boards, rainbow writing and tracing letters. Additionally, learners had to match the picture to the correct sound and draw different items with this week’s new sounds. In Maths, we began our new topic on Measure, focusing specifically on length. The key vocabulary this week was long and short and the children took part in several practical activities to help them compare and describe different lengths. With Christmas just around the corner, we’ve started to add a little seasonal sparkle to our afternoons. The children enjoyed some relaxing Christmas colouring, choosing from festive pictures and showing great concentration and creativity.

This week we also enjoyed our Christmas lunch, which was a real highlight for the children. They loved sitting together with their friends and enjoying a delicious festive meal. The hall was filled with music, excitement and lots of smiling faces. It was a lovely way for the children to celebrate the season and get excited for Christmas.

Our Christmas party is on Tuesday 16th December. Please bring your child to school in their party clothes. We can’t wait to have lots more festive fun next week!

I hope you have a lovely weekend!
