In room 17 we have been have been learning about…
Dribbling, passing, pivoting and shooting in basketball. We were practising these skills through races. It was fun and everyone was happy.
We were also cooking for our adults on Tuesday. The adults loved it and so did we! We even did a quiz, the high score was 10/10.

Room 13 have been learning about the infamous Cinnamon, the escaped capybara. We have created ‘Lost Animal’ descriptive writing pieces, drawn Capybara fact files and learned more about this curious animal.
In other news, we have been reading Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, we are about to embark on platform 9 and 3/4s. We are continuing to enjoy Ottoline with Miss Higgins and working hard on our numeracy this week, learning about Place Value and applying some Number Talk strategies by adding and subtracting 10s.

L – I’ve enjoyed using the chrome books

This week we have learned about adjectives and used it to describe the pond in our class book “Tuesday”. Next week we will be trying to predict what happens next at the end of the book and write our own version. Hello everyone,
In Room 2 we have been learning lots of new things. We would like to share some of our learning with you.
LM – Planets. I know Mercury, Earth, Sun, Jupiter.
TD – We have been learning to draw detailed faces – eyes, mouth, ears, eyebrows, eyelashes, hair and nose.
AH – Rhyming words – car and star.
KH – We have been making sure that we are being safe.
NN – We try to get on the recognition board.
IC – In the classroom, we keep everyone safe.
IJ – Numbers – 5.
MM – We have been learning cutting skills.
OMcM – We are trying to be kind.

We’ve had another fun-filled and busy week in Room 4! The children have been exploring and using their imaginations in lots of different ways. Here are some of the highlights they wanted to share:
MS – “I liked reading books to the teddies.”
JS – “I liked writing in the diary at the home corner.”
CS – “I liked the rhymes Miss Laird told us to help us write the numbers.”
FM – “I liked pretending to be different farm animals and making different animal sounds in the gym hall.”
AN – “I liked playing with the cars in the tuff tray and using them to trace over the numbers.”
ZA – “I liked drawing a sad face in my jotter.”
KH – “I liked working with Mrs Trainer to practice sounds and our jotter tasks.”
AR – “I liked using the farm animal puppets to sing Old McDonald Had a Farm.”
KO – “I liked singing the Big Number Song.”
EM – “I liked the playdough.”

Hello everyone!
It has been a very busy few weeks,and here is a sneak peak at what we have been up to…..
The class have been learning about place value and enjoyed creating their own place value robots.
Next week we are moving on to estimating and rounding.
We are also learning about time. It would be great if we could practice telling the time at home, particularly quarter to and quarter past (P3) and reading clocks at 5 minute intervals (P4).
In writing we have been creating our own recipes for Marvellous Medicines and also learning about similes and metaphors. We enjoyed making our bottles for our medicines and then making a warning poster to go alongside it, focusing on print and colour.
In PE we have been focusing on fitness and rugby skills. We will continue to go outside most weeks even when it is drizzling so please send in waterproof jackets!
During Child Led Play we have been loving creating lots of interesting builds with lego and also learning how to log on to the chrome books. The role play corner has also been very popular, in particular wearing the jewellery. We are waiting confirmation of photo permission before we can include any pictures of the kids on the blog.

Good Afternoon,
This week we have been learning the sounds ‘ai’ and ‘oy’. We have been working hard on our writing in our jotters, ensuring we use capital letters, full stops and finger spaces. This week we moved on to Addition in Maths and number bonds of 20 and 40.
We started our new topic of Knights and Castles, and we looked at Edinburgh Castle and the history of them. We also learned the name of different parts of a castle.
This inspired our play this week, and we worked hard with the loose parts and building blocks to recreate our own castle. Next week we will continue with two more sounds ‘oa’ and ‘qu’ and will be focusing on subtraction for maths.
Pupil Voice:
EW: I enjoyed building castles.
BC: I liked learning about the castles.
CJ: I liked colouring in and cutting out the knight.
BK: I loved learning the new sounds.
CJ: I enjoyed building my castle using the pegs and sticks.
OM: I enjoyed drawing the water to represent the ‘moat’ of the castle when building it.
Remember:
P.E on Monday is outdoor. It is important that the children have waterproof jackets with hoods every single day.
