Please see below a presentation for parents on South Lanarkshire Council’s Framework for managing behaviour in schools which is Called Promoting Positive Relationships and Understanding Distressed Behaviour (PPRUDB).
The presentation gives a basic outline of the approach—viewing behaviour as means of communicating distress and a sign a child is stressed in the school environment. They may lack the vocabulary or the skills to initiate conversation and tell a member of staff what is upsetting them/what is difficult.
