We’ve had a fantastic week in Primary 1 and the children have settled back into our routines very well after the long weekend. It has been lovely to see everyone returning ready to learn and engage enthusiastically in all of our activities.

In Literacy, we have been learning the ‘ng’ sound. The children have been practising recognising the sound in words, reading words containing ng and working hard on their letter formation during written activities.

In Numeracy, we are continuing to consolidate our numbers to 20. Our focus has been on correct number formation and developing an understanding of place value. The children have been using practical materials and games to help build confidence when working with numbers.

We are also continuing our preparations for Sports Day. The children have been practising different races and activities, showing great teamwork, encouragement and enthusiasm.
