This week in Primary 1 we have had a busy and exciting time in our learning!

In Maths, we have been learning about doubles up to 20. The children practised recognising and solving doubles such as ‘5 + 5’ and ‘6 + 6’ and beyond. To help us remember them, we also learned a fun doubles song, which the children really enjoyed singing while practising their number facts.

During Literacy, we spent time consolidating the sounds we have already learned, practising reading, writing and recognising them in different words. The children are becoming much more confident using their sounds when reading and spelling.

We also started our brand-new topic: “Under the Sea.” The class was very excited to begin exploring this topic. We talked about different sea animals and what we might find in the ocean and we are looking forward to learning much more about marine life in the coming weeks.

It has been a wonderful week of learning in Primary 1 and the children should be very proud of all their hard work!

Have a lovely weekend!
