This week, Room 3 have been developing their understanding of time using the analogue clock. We have now learned about the different vocabulary surrounding this clock, such as hours hand, minutes hand, face and clockwise. We understand that the minutes hand moves faster than the hours hand and it takes the minutes hand a full turn around the clock for the hours hand to move between two numbers. We also know that a clock turns in a clockwise direction, which means that the numbers get bigger as the hands move around the clock until they reach 12 and reset again. This week we were continuing to practise how to tell the time to the hour when using the word ‘o’clock’ and showed our learning using the teaching clocks. We were also able to identify things we do at different hours of the day.
