We have had such an exciting time in Room 27 over the past week, celebrating World Book Day and welcoming three visitors to speak to us about their jobs in the engineering industry. We also had the STEM Ambassadors visit on Wednesday for Science Week.
As part of our information handling topic in Maths, we conducted our own survey with classes across the school to find out their favourite genre of book. We recorded this in a table using tally marks and then created bar graphs and tables using the Chromebooks. We had great fun exploring all of the different types of chart and experimenting with the number of votes to see how that impacted on the scale. We also enjoyed creating bar charts in the playground using sticks, leaves and a mixture of other resources!
Here are some of our highlights:
AR “I loved writing my letter to The RAF to thank them for visiting us and persuading them to come back.”
KE “I enjoyed making the balloon rockets with the STEM Leaders.”
TJP “I liked doing laps in PE and the team fitness challenges.”
JD “I am enjoying running in PE.
BM “I liked dictation today.”
HT “I liked doing the ‘one dot’ drawing challenge.”
AG: “I liked learning how to say my birthday in French.”
