Room 5 enjoyed the arrival of our class Elf and decided to name him Tinsel.  He has been helping us get into the Christmas Spirit and also reminding us that he is watching to see who is behaving and listening in class!

Our sound this week was ‘au’ which we found quite tricky, it would be great if we could revise this more at home to help.  We did lots of collaborative work this week, including our writing lesson.  In pairs the children were asked to design a new toy and to describe it.  Some of the kids came up with some really brilliant ideas, including a toy that can teleport you to anywhere you want to go!

We also completed a maths challenge at our tables.  Children had to work out the place value problems as well as delegate jobs to work well as part of a team.

In preparation for our performance next week, we have been making a fireplace to display some of the Christmas crafts that we have been doing in class.  We can’t wait for you to see it next Friday!  We have sent home the QR codes with links to the songs so that you can hopefully get some practice at home.
